Salt air is the primary accelerant. Airborne sodium chloride deposits on the stucco surface, absorbs moisture from the humid atmosphere, and creates a corrosive film beneath the paint layer that weakens adhesion from the substrate side. Simultaneously, the daily thermal cycle in Fort Lauderdale expands and contracts the concrete block wall, and the paint film riding on top of it must flex with every cycle or crack. Conventional paint has limited flex life. After several hundred thermal cycles the film develops micro-fractures that admit moisture, and the degradation compounds from there.
COOLWALL’s ceramic formulation addresses both mechanisms. Its cross-linked bond to the substrate tolerates thermal movement without cracking, and its mil thickness provides a physical barrier that salt deposits cannot penetrate to reach the adhesion layer beneath. Haven Home Remodeling Group has applied COOLWALL on Fort Lauderdale homes positioned directly on the Intracoastal Waterway, where salt exposure is at its most intense, and those applications continue to hold their finish and color years after completion.
